Introduction Raúl González

My name is Raúl Gonzalez Domínguez, I am 21 years old and I am a student of primary teaching at the University of Valencia.

I am in the third year of my degree and a few months away from Erasmus in Holland. When I look back, I remember that when I was at the high school and I used to think in the future I could not even imagine myself as I am now. It is true that teaching has always seemed to me an interesting area but I do not think that years ago I considered working as a teacher, in fact, although now I am working as a soccer coach of children of 6 years old, before starting the degree I haven’t had any contact with children since I was studying at the school. On the other hand, I used to imagine myself studying some degree related with sport because I am very fond of soccer and in general of sport, so it was a very logical choice.

However, here I am, close to finishing my degree and with many expectations and illusions for the future. At the moment, my future plans are to keep on learning english, a language that I have been studying since I was 6 years old but that I have to carry on improving. I am currently studying in an academy and, as I said, next year and I am going abroad so I hope to improve and learn to a great extent. Years ago, at 18, I also made a trip abroad with the high school to Boston, United States, and in only 2 weeks I noticed that I learned a lot and improved very fluently. Therefore, at the end of my erasmus experience I hope to speak as a native english speaker!

Another language that I have also studied since I was a child is Valencian. Despite my family is not from Valencia, since I started the school I have always been in a valencian classroom because my parents wanted me and my sister to have a good level of this language. Consequently, in the school I learned a lot; however, in high school I noticed that my progress stopped a bit because teachers were not as involved in teaching this language as my school’s. Even though, one of my purposes is also to study Valencian again to pass the c1 exam as soon as possible.
