BIOGRAPHY
In this section, I will talk about my language experience from the very
beginning. First of all, I must say Valencian is my mother tongue. It is the
language that both my mother and father speak and taught me.
My parents both grew up in Benitachell, Alicante, so they learned Valencian
since they were just little kids. They learned Spanish afterwards, in primary
school. Therefore, Valencian is the first language I got in touch, and the
language I master the most. As for the studies, I have lived my whole life in
the Valencian Community, that’s why I’m required to study this language during
my degree. Secondly, due to the bilingual educational system I am required to
manage both languages, Spanish and Valencian, equally.
Since I was a kid, I’ve been studying Valencian and Spanish alternating
them with English and French, but I dropped out French 5 years ago. I joined an
English academy at the age of 6 and I’ve always been keen to languages. Hence,
my educational life has always been linked to the continuous learning of
languages. After years of preparation and commitment, I managed to get the
certificates I wanted both in English and Valencian. In English it was more
progressive, as I got the A2, then the B1, then B2, and finally, last year, I
got the C1, whereas in Valencian I took the risk and went for the Superior – C2
directly, without taking the exam of any previous grade before. It all went well
as I passed it and I feel really proud of my achievements and the effort I made
to reach them.
In the future, I hope to pass the Proficiency English Exam and I want to
retake French or maybe start learning Italian, as I like our neighbour’s language
really much. Only god knows what awaits me.
